  1. Latest

Guided setup for every new company

A new company now opens on seven short setup steps, so your books and your workshop are built from your own answers before you start.

    New

    • Seven-step setup

Your company, what you make, who you are, what’s on your shelf, what was in the bank, how you number things and what you connect — one step at a time, with a track across the top. After step 2 you can choose Finish later and pick up where you left off.

    • Your chart of accounts, built for you

Step 1 asks what kind of business you are (sole proprietor, LLC, S-corp, C-corp or partnership) and builds the right chart of accounts in one go.

    • What your own hour is worth

Set your hourly rate once, and it’s used in the Owner Time Log and as a “Your time” labor rate your recipes can count in product cost.

    • “Finish setting up” on Home

Companies that joined before the setup existed are asked the same few questions on Home instead.

    • Invite an owner to sign in

An owner you listed without a login can be invited to sign in as that same owner.

    Improved and fixed

    • Opening counts and deposits say whose stock or money it is when each owner keeps their own accounts.
    • Home’s “Money in, last 6 months” now adds up the six months.
    • New help article: How to set up your company.
  2. Every page uses your whole screen

Pages now use the full width of your screen, with the same frame everywhere — and the wider space is put to work.

    New

    • Full-width pages

Every screen uses the width of the screen it’s on, from a phone to a wide monitor.

    • See your invoice as you type

Settings › Company details shows what your invoices will print while you fill it in.

    • Where to find each number

Settings › Registrations tells you where to find your EIN and each state number.

    Improved and fixed

    • Labels and table headings are in normal case, easier to read.
    • An accountant can record a paid supplier paper’s bill straight from its card.
  3. A new look: big buttons and counts at a glance

The app got a new frame built for touch screens and the shop floor.

    New

    • A rail down the left

Home, Stock, Recipes, Workshop, Purchasing, Invoicing and Money are big tiles down the left side, grouped Make, Buy, Sell and Books.

    • A bar along the bottom on phones

Home, Stock, Money, Purchasing and More are always one tap away.

    • Counts you can see

Each section shows how many things are waiting for you — like files to review in Money.

    • Big page buttons

Each section’s pages are big buttons across the top, with icons and counts.

    Improved and fixed

    • Simple mode names accounts in plain words, without account numbers.
    • A paid supplier paper shows how it was paid — for example “✓ Paid · Visa”.
    • A paid paper that’s all running costs records its bill right from the card.
    • A supplier’s bill can never be posted to wages or contractor pay by mistake.
    • Every filter looks and works the same way, and the main button stands out in light and dark mode.
  4. Undo a delivery, record payments by hand, and more for bills

A big release for purchasing and bills: fix mistakes without starting over, and record what you actually paid.

    New

    • Undo this delivery

Received the wrong thing? Undo a delivery — its goods come back out of stock at what they came in at, and the record stays, marked undone.

    • Not for stock: an expense

A line on a supplier’s paper that isn’t for your shelf — a tool, a fee, supplies you use up — is recorded as an expense instead of stock.

    • Record a payment by hand

Say when a bill was paid and from which account. When the bank line shows up later, it joins that payment. A payment can be undone too.

    • Bank lines from the upload page

Add a bank statement’s lines to Bank Payments straight from the upload page.

    • Paid online orders count as paid

An online order summary that shows it was paid is treated as a paid receipt.

    Improved and fixed

    • Record a bill from an order’s own page, starting from the supplier’s paper.
    • Bank Payments says in words what each line is linked to.
    • A file too long to read tells you what to do next.
    • Clearer messages when an order or a list can’t be loaded right then.
  5. Registrations: your EIN and state numbers in one place

Keep your company’s federal and state registration numbers together, safely.

    New

    • Registrations

Your EIN and your state and local registration numbers in one place, each shown by its last four digits only.

    Improved and fixed

    • Removing a number asks first, with the safe answer on the big button.
    • A bill recorded from an order’s paper shows that paper.
    • Freight and tax rows in a bill’s three-way match say what they are.
    • A bank statement line that paid a bill can no longer be removed by mistake.
    • New help article: How to record your company’s registrations.
