For Soap Makers

Soap making software that knows what a bar really costs.

Oils by the pound, lye, butters, fragrance, colorants, molds, cure time and the bars that didn’t make it. GodKey MFG keeps your soap inventory, recipes, batches and books in one place — and works out an honest cost per bar.

Sound familiar?

  • Oil and butter prices change with every order — and the spreadsheet never catches up
  • Freight on a heavy oil order quietly raises the cost of every bar
  • A batch of 60 bars that yields 54 doesn’t cost what you think
  • Sales, stock and the books live in three different places

How GodKey MFG handles it

Recipes by weight, costed at what you paid

Build each soap recipe with oils, lye, fragrance and additives in the units you weigh. Each ingredient is costed at your actual average purchase price — freight included — so the recipe shows what a batch should cost today. If an ingredient has no cost yet, it says so instead of showing a number that’s too low.

Batches that count the bars you can sell

Complete a batch with how many bars you started, how many came out good and how many you rejected. The batch cost is spread over the good bars, ingredients come out of stock, and finished soap goes in.

Gift sets and bundles

A recipe can use finished goods as ingredients, so a three-bar gift box with a soap dish is costed from the bars and dish inside it.

Books that already know your cost

When you sell, the bar’s cost moves to cost of goods sold automatically, so your profit and loss shows real margins. Square sales can be imported for your review.

The math makers miss

A 60-bar batch with $96.00 of materials and a 54-bar yield carries $1.78 of material cost per bar — not the $1.60 you get by dividing by 60.

Questions

What is the best software for a small soap business?

Look for software that connects your oil and lye inventory, recipes, batch production and accounting, so cost per bar updates on its own. GodKey MFG does that for small soap makers and is free during the beta, until March 29, 2027.

Can GodKey MFG track cure time?

There isn’t a dedicated cure-time tracker yet. Complete the batch when the bars are ready to sell, or add a note to the batch.

Does it work for melt-and-pour and cold process?

Yes. Any soap made from a recipe in batches works — cold process, hot process or melt-and-pour.
