Sound familiar?
- Formulas change and the old cost sticks around in the spreadsheet
- Small amounts of expensive ingredients add up in ways that are easy to miss
- Gift sets combine products whose costs you can’t see
- Inventory, sales and the books never agree
How GodKey MFG handles it
Recipe versions
Change a formula and keep the old version. Each version is costed at today’s ingredient prices, so you can see what a reformulation does to your margin.
Batches in any size
Make a batch of lotion and fill several sizes, with good and rejected counts recorded. Ingredients come out of stock and finished goods go in.
Gift sets costed from what’s inside
Recipes can use finished goods as ingredients, so a holiday set is costed from the products, packaging and labor that go into it.
R&D experiments
Test a new formula with real stock and see what the experiment cost, without mixing it into your production numbers.
GodKey MFG doesn’t track lots or manage cosmetics labeling or regulatory records yet. Keep those records the way you do today.
Questions
Does GodKey MFG track batch lot numbers for cosmetics?
Not yet. Lot tracking isn’t built. You can trace a payment back to its bill, purchase order, receipts and the batches that used those materials, but not by lot.
Can I cost a product made in several sizes?
Yes. Each size can be its own finished good with its own recipe, so each one gets its own cost per unit.
