Sound familiar?
- You buy logs by the load and sell lumber by the board foot
- Trucking and saw time never make it into the price of a board
- Lumber, slabs and sawdust live on scraps of paper and in your head
- Big lumber-yard software costs more than your mill makes in a month
How GodKey MFG handles it
Board feet, logs and loads
Add the units your mill uses — board feet, thousand board feet, loads — and keep log and lumber stock in them, with counts you can adjust after a tally.
Log purchasing with the trucking included
Purchase orders for log loads, received with the trucking spread into the cost of the logs, and supplier bills read and checked for you before they post.
Milling runs with yield
Record a run from a recipe — logs in, lumber out — with what came out good and what didn’t. Labor and materials are costed into the lumber you can sell.
Invoices and books for the mill
Invoice with delivery and sales tax, take payments, and let cost of goods sold post itself at the real cost of the lumber.

What we’re building for sawmills & lumber
- Several products from one log — boards, slabs and sawdust — with the cost split between them
- Species, grade and size for each board, each with its own stock and cost
- Green, air-dry and kiln stages, with the day each load is ready
- A sawmill setup that starts you with board feet, “mill run” wording and typical items
Join the beta and tell us how your operation runs — beta companies help decide how these work. Talk to us.
Today a milling run makes one product. Co-products, grades and species, and drying stages are planned and not built yet — beta mills help decide how they work.
Questions
Is GodKey MFG a sawmill software?
It handles the purchasing, inventory, milling runs, invoicing and books a small mill needs today. Mill-specific features — several products from one log, grades and species, and kiln stages — are on the roadmap and not built yet.
Can I track lumber in board feet?
Yes. Add board feet (or thousand board feet) as a unit and use it for your stock, recipes and sales.
Can I do custom milling for customers?
You can invoice custom milling as a service and record the work as a run. Job-by-job scheduling isn’t built yet.
